Faculty of Arts, Humanities, and Foreign Languages

1. Introduction

The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Foreign Languages is a vital pillar of Asia Euro University, comprising three departments: the Department of English, the Department of International Relations, and the Department of Chinese. All academic programs in each department are not only designed to meet societal demands, but are also closely aligned with practical requirements and the evolving shifts of current and future job markets.

Grounded in deep reforms to the quality of higher education, the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Foreign Languages has been actively implementing Outcome-Based Education (OBE). This is a modern educational system that shifts the focus from "what professors teach" to "what students can actually do and achieve" after graduation.

To ensure the achievement of these learning outcomes, the Faculty is creating positive and active learning environments. Students are encouraged and given full opportunities to participate in language and skill competitions, undertake research projects, and foster creativity and innovation. Furthermore, the curriculum strongly integrates pedagogical training and practical internships (Practicum). These mechanisms ensure that graduates from the Faculty become human resources with critical thinking abilities, high competitiveness, and complete qualifications to contribute to national development alongside local and ASEAN educational standards.

2. Vision

To become a leading faculty in training and developing human resources in foreign languages with genuine capability, excellence, professional ethics, and full competence to compete in the labor market in the era of globalization.

3. Mission

To achieve the vision above and ensure educational quality in accordance with OBE standards, the Faculty commits to the following mission:

  • Outcome-Based Education: Reform teaching and learning mechanisms to be student-centered, focusing on measurable competence outcomes.

  • Higher-Order Thinking Development: Encourage students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and creative innovation.

  • Research and Innovation: Promote scientific research and continuous capacity development for professors and students through internships and advanced professional training.

  • Bridging Theory and Practice: Strengthen direct practical work experience for students before graduation.

4. Core Values

The Faculty adheres to the following core values:

  • Excellence: Focus on learning outcomes and high-level work competency.

  • Quality and Innovation: Creative, standard-driven learning and teaching.

  • Integrity and Ethics: Respect for professional ethics, discipline, and social responsibility.

  • Adaptability: Agility in adjusting to and solving problems within fast-changing work contexts.

5. Goals

Based on its 5-year strategic plan, the Faculty has set specific goals to successfully achieve the OBE system as follows:

  1. Ensure 100% Curriculum Alignment: Organize and update all subjects to feature clear Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) that align with market demands.

  2. Strengthen Faculty Qualifications: Continuously train staff and professors on OBE teaching methodologies and transparent student assessment techniques.

  3. Enhance Research Output: Increase professor and student participation in research and publications to support educational quality.

  4. Establish a Competency Assessment System: Strengthen teaching and learning evaluation systems, prioritizing "actual skills students can demonstrate" over rote memorization.

  5. Expand Professional Networks: Increase cooperation with national and international companies and institutions to ensure a high employability rate for graduates.
