At the invitation of the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), H.E. Duong Leang, Rector of AEU, delegated Mr. Chea Sopheap, Director of Studies and Research, and Mr. Sun Setha, Dean of Faculty of Science and Information Technology to head nine members of the faculty for a seven-day study tour at ITE.

The study tour took place from October 10th-16th, 2011 with every warm greeting of the Management Board and faculty members of ITE. The AEU's delegates were introduced to Data Center, classrooms, and different types of lab (such as electronics, information communication technology, multimedia studio, safety equipment control, automobile technicality and airconditioning equipment, etc.) In addition to the skills, the delegates also learnt about hotel and restaurant management, and cooking methods that the ITE's students had been practicing. The delegates were also trained on how to safeguard the datum and Astaro Sophos Network Security's Firewall Hardware. After that, Fujitsu based in Singapore invited the delegates to the company's data center there. It is worth noting that this company belongs to Axiom Conglomerate, which produces a variety of equipment and is supported by the Japenes government.

Noticeably, ITE, t h e government's biggest technological institute, has thus far partnered with several state-runtechnical universities and institutes in Southeast Asian countries such as Laos, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, and Vietnam and some European countries. However, in Cambodia, ITE has chosen AEU as the partner.

Mr. Sun Setha said that this has been the second time AEU's staff and faculty members have visited ITE through Overseas Student Exchange Program, and the program was offered annually for AEU's staff, faculty members, and students. “This study tour was successful as the delegates could learned a lot, and ITE pledged to assist AEU with supports of materials and experiences in technology, hotel and restaurant management (which fits well with AEU's plan to  set up the hotel rooms and restaurants in the AEU's new 12 storey-building in 2011- 2012),” added Mr. Setha. Another success was that ITE's partnering companies such as Fujitsu and Astaro Sophos Network Security pledged to provide technical and material supports to AEU. This commitment could be witnessed in last September donation of technical logistics and data protection software by Astaro Sophos Network.
